The Ashrama tries to demonstrate a venture where involving very little capital, farmers can reap a good amount of benefit. In this modern day fast life the issue of keeping good health has, of late, been a serious concern owing to the increase of life-style related diseases. The Ashrama hopes to reach more number of people regarding the benefits of herbal farming keeping in view environmental issues.
In its herbal garden, plants like Aloe vera, Ashwagandha, Sarpagandha, Krishna Tulsi, Ghritakumari, Lavender, Pista, Patthar Chur, Punarnava, Salparni and Mandukaparni are grown. Quality Chawanprash prepared from the herbs is available for sale from the Math Book Sale counter.

The herbs are put to use in the Ayurvedic section of Vivekananda Polyclinic. The Ashrama's effort will bear fruit when farmers of areas around Lucknow will be aware of the potential and take to farming of these age old medicinal plants as a profitbale venture which will go a long way in increasing their earning.
